Only 13 Species
According to WWF, there are 13 species of tree-kangaroo, and many of them are very rare, placing them on the list of endangered animals. The Perth Zoo celebrated in 2016 the birth of the first tree-kangaroo that was born in captivity, making him a celebrity and giving hope to conservationists that the species would be able to survive.
