18. Fast Radio Bursts
In 2017, the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico was looking for some exoplanets when it received strange pulses over the radio. These Fast Radio Bursts kept on coming for a month! Two weeks after the FRB were recorded, researchers realized the signals came from Ross 128 (GJ447), which is around 11 light years away.
