Polybius
The video game Polybius was allegedly released in Portland, Oregon in 1981. Due to the creepy rumors surrounding the game, people started to believe Polybius was supposed to be a psychological experiment which resulted in seizures and nightmares. The legend was probably spawned by the real game “Tempest,” which was released in 1981 and did cause players to suffer from nausea and epileptic seizures.
