There’s a legend about a murderous squatter hiding out in an unsuspecting family’s attic. But fiction became reality in a German farm named Hinterkaifeck in March 1922. Andreas Gruber and his family noticed several things out of place and even saw some strange footsteps. Finally, the killer came down from the attic and murdered everyone, including the housekeeper with a mattock.
