Craigslist Prank Gone Wrong

In 2006, Seattle web developer Jason Fortuny posed as a woman on Craigslist to see how many responses to his ad he’d get in one day. He received 178 responses, which he published on the website Encyclopedia Dramatica. He also included the names, email addresses and phone numbers of every guy who contacted him. An anonymous plaintiff later sued Fortuny over the innocent, winning $75,000.
