The Sarah Palin Email Hack
During the 2008 U.S. presidential election, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s email was hacked by a 4chan user named David Kernell. After using Yahoo’s password recovery feature to break in, he posted screencaps of the emails on 4chan’s image board. Eventually, Kernell was caught by authorities and arrested. He spent a year in prison and was later released on probation.
