The speed limit on some highways in Germany is only a recommendation. Drivers traveling on the autobahn get to decide how fast they want to go. They have to ensure there is enough space between the other cars when driving more than 200 km/h. According to CAA, if you happen to run out of fuel on the autobahn, your license may be suspended for up to six months.
