In Denmark, people who are not married by the age of 25 get covered in spice by their friends and family. The “lucky” person gets covered from head to toe in cinnamon and water so that the spice sticks better. A Danish man shared with The Telegraph that this strange tradition started hundreds of years ago when spice salesmen used to travel around the world and remained bachelors. They never stayed in one location long enough to find a partner.
