Some Counties Used Face Masks Way Before The Pandemic
Jamie Cho, who grew up in Korea, explained that since she was a little girl, she wore a face mask every time she was sick, even if it was just a mild cold. “My parents told me it was to keep myself and others safe,” she told HuffPost. “I would see others wear masks as well, especially during the winter seasons.” Face masks serve other purposes as well. Sometimes women would put them on when they didn’t have time to apply makeup. Celebrities also used them when they didn’t want their fans to recognize them.
