Bella and the Wych Elm
On April 18, 1943, four boys in Hagley Wood came across a large wych elm while they were bird-nesting. When one of the boys climbed to the top and looked inside the hollow trunk, he discovered a human skull. Being that they had been on the property illegally, they were reluctant to tell their parents what they had found.
