The nearby Shelburne fire department has also given Bruce a hard time about the bunker. Over the past 35 years, they have managed to seal off the bunker twice, citing safety concerns. When the 2015 Annual Preppers’ Meet was held on the property a large group of Canadian survivalists descended on the property. This prompted the fire department to try and seal the bunker for the third time. Fortunately, the department was unsuccessful.
