Bruce had been a long-time resident of Chicago before moving to Horning’s Mills in rural Canada during the 1970s. The Cold War was heating up again at this point and nuclear devastation seemed imminent. As a result, Bruce started to think about surviving a nuclear conflict and he decided that Horning’s Mills would be the perfect spot to do just that.
