Since John was in need of some help with his plan, he called up a few of his friends. It was part of the plan to have a backup in case something went wrong. With his experience rescuing people, John knew if the old lid collapsed and fell on him, he would not make it out alive.
However, before they could explore what was in the underground space, an important task had to be completed.
