Don’t Use the Loofah After Shaving

Shaving causes your skin to open tiny holes, which are perfect hiding spots for infectious bacteria. As we’ve explained above, loofahs accumulate lots of bacteria, and you don’t want these germs to get to your freshly shaved, clean skin. Dermatologist Melissa Piliang suggests not using washcloths or loofahs for a few days after shaving to avoid possible infection. It’s recommended to use them only once or twice a week instead, as your hands are enough to apply soap on your body.
