The mushroom pickers ran until they found a police officer in the closest town. They led him back through the forest until they reached the campsite again. But this time, the man approached and greeted them. The officer took in his appearance, stunned. The man’s hair was long and matted, his face and hands were filthy and he had a long and unkempt beard. Then, he began to speak in perfect Italian.
