“I’m Spanish, my name is Carlos, and I’ve been living here since 1992,” the man said. The policeman and the hikers were incredulous. Their minds raced with questions. How could this man have survived out in the woods for nearly two decades? And why was he living here? Was he some kind of fugitive? But the man interrupted before the officer could ask any of the questions on his mind.
