Speculations
When the news of Sanchez’s appearance made headlines, the public and indeed scholars tried to figure out if the man could really have survived alone in the forest for so many years. Some theorized that he had gathered all the material he had needed from the Tuscan beaches that lie about an hour away from his campsite and that perhaps he had been able to grow his own food. Others believe that he raided trash cans in the nearby town at night to survive.
