‘Sons of Anarchy’ is loosely based on the Hells Angels.
Kurt Shutter, who was the show’s director, wanted to make it as realistic as possible. So he hired some actual members of Hells Angels to play parts in the TV show. People like David Labvrava, Chuck Zito, Rusty Coones, and Sonny Barger played in the show and even supervised some of them. Labvrava was even named a technical advisor, helping Shutter make the scenes as realistic as possible.
