Returned Safely
The investigation continues, and no arrests have been made thus far. We’ll never know if the couple really did pull off one of the greatest art thefts of the 20th Century, but all evidence certainly suggests they did – and got away with it. The De Kooning painting, ‘Woman-Ochre’, has been returned to the Arizona Museum, where hopefully it will remain safe. It has been given an evaluation of over $160 million.
