John Landis

John Landis, the award-winning writer and director of films like “National Lampoon’s Animal House” and “An American Werewolf in London” is an unlikely candidate for a manslaughter charge. But on July 23, 1982, a helicopter crash on the set of “Twilight Zone: The Movie” killed three actors, and Landis was put on trial for involuntary manslaughter. He was found innocent on all charges.
