Glenn Close
Albert Nobbs (2011): This film was a passion project for Glenn Close, and it took her twenty years to get off the ground. It is based on a French play by Simone Benmussa that Glenn starred in off Broadway in 1982, winning an Obie Award. When it finally made it to screen it was dismissed by critics and audiences, although Glenn did get an Oscar nomination for her years of dedication. Whether her performance deserved the recognition is another story.
