My Secret Research
In the early 90s, I used to look up the IP addresses for government and military servers and sift around their anonymous FTP directories, downloading everything I could find. Usually, it was boring administrative or pr related stuff, but one time I got a hold of a spending report of all significant DoD R&D projects. I have no idea if I violated any laws, but for the last 20 years, any time someone pounds on my door, I wonder if they’ve finally come for me.
