Evil Dead (2013)
This remake is a surprisingly successful film and it only ups the gore of the 1981 original. Fede Alvarez overtakes directing duties from Sam Raimi. Alvarez doesn’t lean into the comedy like Raimi, but he doubles down on the gore. The film is a lot of fun, which a lot of the other films on this list can’t claim to be.
