Sleeping in Hammocks
Talking about nighttime and sleeping, pirates did sleep in hammocks. The officers had their quarters, but the rest of the crew would share the same sleeping area, below decks. Sleeping in hammocks was the best idea since the hammocks swayed along with the ship, and getting a good night’s rest was much easier for the whole crew.
