Pirates’ Shanties
Just like any other men who got drank and began singing, pirates actually enjoyed hearing bands and even seeing people perform theater. Since they were at sea for most of the time, whenever they reached a port, pirates would invite bands and actors to perform.
In Black Bart Roberts’ code there’s a rule about that: “The musicians shall have rest on the Sabbath Day only, by right, on all other days, by favor only.”
