When Steel Kills
James Hackemer, a veteran of the war in Iraq, lost his life in July 2011, while on the Ride of Steel at the Darien Lake Amusement Park in New York. Investigators learned that due to the fact that Hackemer had lost both his legs in the war, he shouldn’t have been allowed on the ride.
