No Beatles Haircuts at this Barber Shop
The Beatles formed in 1960 in Liverpool. By 1964 they had achieved international stardom and remained on the charts before their eventual break-up in 1970. Just about everything these four men did became a trend after they were famous. In 1963, their hit song, “She Loves You” was released and so were their new haircuts. An author for TIME magazine incorrectly labeled it “the mushroom haircut,” which caught on like wildfire across the world. In this shop in 1965, barbers were apparently fed up with creating “mop tops,” the actual name of the signature Beatles hairstyle, and warned anyone wanting it, in advance.
