The Moments Before A Nazi General Execution

Towards the end of the Second World War, a number of Nazis were put on trial for their acts against humanity and in Nuremberg too. It was the city that hosted many of their rallies before the war happened. The Allied powers operated under a strict set of rules when it came to war criminals and managed to convict twenty out of twenty-three defendants, eleven of which were condemned to death. And so, on October 16th, 1946, all of them were executed, with the exception of one person, who managed to swallow a cyanide capsule before his impending doom. This picture was taken the morning the remaining ten were hanged.
