In 2000 Jolie won Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars for her role in Girl, Interrupted, raising her profile even higher. She also scored box office success in the high-speed heist movie Gone in Sixty Seconds. 2001 saw Jolie playing the titular character in the first of two Lara Croft, Tomb Raider movies.
