Emma tried to act as though what Sarah had done didn’t affect her, but she couldn’t hide her disappointment. Did her so-called “friend” have no respect for her? Why had she felt the need to one-up her on what was meant to be her day? She glanced at Sarah, who was receiving the attention she had wanted so badly and looking very pleased with herself. When she saw her smug face, something inside of her snapped.
