Claiming What’s Mine
One day, a mother-daughter duo walks into the store, and the mother explains that they were there to pick up her daughter’s dress. The attendant looks up her name and then tells her that she never bought or put down a deposit on the dress. She shows her the note saying to hold the dress, which they did for two weeks, and had not heard back.
The mother says, “Well, we want it now.” The attendant explained that it had been eight months, and the dress was sold and that if they wanted one, she can order one and have it expedited. She went crazy. They scheduled alterations in two hours for the wedding that was a week away. The bride went into a corner and crying like it was a death sentence. How can you claim a dress you never paid for?
