7. John Glenn Saw Space ‘Fireflies’
When he was in the Friendship 7 spacecraft in February 1962, John Glenn noticed strange glowing ‘fireflies’ outside his window. He reported it to NASA and it took the agency a year to realize that the lights didn’t come from a malfunction but from frozen droplets of condensation that cracked when the spaceship was travelling.
