Fortunately, Klein’s fortunes would change a year later due to a business partnership with a childhood friend, Barry Schwartz. After releasing his first designs they caught the eye of a Bonwit Teller department store. They quickly snapped up his designs and it wasn’t long before his clothing was in demand.
