When John finished high school he knew exactly what he wanted to do. Most of his friends had applied to colleges out-of-state, but he knew that he wanted to stay in Florida. He wanted to make a difference in his hometown. So, when he shared his plans to become a police officer, his family wasn’t surprised. And, now — 35 years later — John didn’t regret his decision.
