Yacht
You might think of a yacht as a vessel used mostly for kicking back and relaxing. But the history of this word tells another story. According to the etymology, a “yacht” is a boat used for the sole purpose of “chasing” other boats. It comes from Dutch jaghte, and was short for jaghtschip, or “chase ship.”
