The Bailong Elevator

BonfireSafaris/Twitter

The construction of the Bailong Elevator in Zhangjiajie, China began in 1999 but it was only opened to the public in 2002. The wait was definitely worth it since it is now considered the highest outdoor elevator in the world. This 1,070-foot tall elevator stands above the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. One of the most breathtaking visuals in the East, each car can hold up to 50 passengers and can carry a capacity of 4,900 kilograms. Future visitors, however, must be completely aware that the incredible elevator stretches out in an earthquake-prone area.
