After all, this 1936 photo is filled with hundreds of people who looked like they were very much willing to do it. The man’s facial expression and gesture pretty much spoke of his resistance. The Nazi salute, which was also referred to as the Hitler Salute, was adopted in the 1930s by the Nazi Party. At present, it is illegal to do it in modern Germany and Austria.
