A Soldier Before And After the War
World War II veteran Evgeny Stepanovich Kobytev had the opportunity to have his photos taken in 1941 before the war and in 1945 after the war. The two photos that were four-years apart definitely showed how conflict can affect a person both mentally and physically. Kobytev worked as a painter before joining the military for the second world war. After escaping a German camp for prisoners of war, he spent the final years of the war, fighting to liberate Ukraine.
