Lenin’s Last Days

In the Russian community, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin is a well-known figure. He served as the head of government of Soviet Russia and subsequently the Soviet Union during his prime. The infamous revolutionary also led the Bolshevik party and the October Revolution. Lenin’s last photo, as seen here, was captured in 1923. At the time, he had already suffered from three strokes and become mute. Fortunately for him, he was thoroughly looked after by doctors at the Moscow suburban palace and his favorite younger sister Maria Ulyanova.
