Robert Wadlow was born in 1919 in Alton, Illinois. He was recorded as the tallest person ever in human history. As such he earned the nicknames “The Alton Giant” and “Giant of Illinois.” Wadlow took “legs for days” to a whole new level. The Alton Giant stood 8 feet and 11 inches tall and lived until 1940. While the anonymous man sitting beside him appeared to be extremely short, he was actually among those with average height. Anyone would probably look smaller if compared to Wadlow.
