Archaeologists named her Avgi, and she lived in Greece at the end of the Mesolithic period around 9,000 years ago. Avgi lived during a time when the region was coming out of the hunter gatherer age and moving into one that began harvesting and growing crops. Her name translates to Dawn, which was chosen to represents the time in which she lived in, the dawn of civilization.
