She Met Her Future Husband
At the displaced persons camp, she met her husband, a United Nations security officer. After they married, Ms. Spitzer became Dr. Tichauer and spent years lecturing bioengineering in New York. She never mentioned Mr Wisnia to any historian over the years, even when her story was documented in the book, “Approaching an Auschwitz Survivor: Holocaust Testimony and its Transformations.”
