Gifts for the Lady Friend
An 80-year-old man hobbled in to ask for a personal loan but we denied him because he had spent too much on one of his credit cards. When we asked him why he’d done that (because it was out of character, based on his history), he said that his lady friend bought too many gifts and up and left him when the card was declined. It was really sad.
