The Russian Dynasty
Eastern Russia was mostly colonized by the Vikings. The Swedish Vikings called Rus’ went there and one chieftain named Rurik unified the many Slavic tribes after conquering them. He created a kingdom in Novgorod in the 9th century, beginning the Rurik Dynasty, which led to the founding of the Tsardom of Russia.
