The BBC pointed out that during a 2018 interview, Julia Morely, the Miss World Organization’s CEO, spoke about the same rule. She, however, defended the rules stating: “When you’re trying to get a worldwide organization to agree, you have to look to everyone and they vote as to what is acceptable.”
