In an interview with BBC Radio 1’s “Newsbeat”, Didusenko said that when she entered the competition, she was aware of the rule stating that mothers are not allowed to enter the competition, but stated that the pageant organizers knew and still encouraged her. “Why should a woman be excluded from entering just because she’s a mother? It doesn’t make any sense,” she told the BBC’s Cherry Wilson.
