Revelations
The day of Matthew’s return was at hand. Huge crowds of family, friends, and general well-wishers gathered at the docks to welcome back the brave men and women on the USS Carl Vinson. Rebecca and her three children were standing in the crowd with their homemade welcome home sign. The children were all excited to see their dad again. Rebecca was nervous. She held the sign in front of him as Matthew approached. The children excited hugged and kissed their dad and finally, he approached her. Once he came close Rebecca let the sign drop and watched Matthew’s face turned from excitement to shock.
