Rebecca was terrified of telling Matthew the secret that she had been keeping. She planned on sending him an email to tell him what was going on “But then I thought about it for a few minutes, and I was like, ‘You know, this isn’t how I want to tell him – in an email,’” she said. “I emailed him back and said, ‘I just miss your voice.’” She knew that she had to tell him face to face. She wanted to tell him as soon as possible. She knew that her emails wouldn’t help to keep him reassured. Her plan went off the rails, however, when Matthew and his fellow troops were sent off to fight one of the most powerful nations in the world.
