The news that Matthew’s deployment had been extended was devastating to Rebecca. “I got emotional about it and I was wondering, ‘Should I tell him? Would I feel guilty if something happens and he doesn’t know?’” Rebecca recalled. “I went back and forth about it.” Not telling him was maddening and upsetting him, but telling him could put his performance at risk which could put him or others in danger. It seemed like she was stuck between the Devil and the deep blue sea. That is until she came up with the perfect plan.
