Texting His Wife
At this point, a fearful Matthew took the opportunity to get out his cellphone and contact his wife to tell her about what was going on. “I’m so scared,” he wrote, “this cop just pulled us over and I don’t know what to do.” Just as Matthew sent the message, the cop appeared to have opened his trunk. Matthew had no idea what was in there and what he was doing. Silence lingers in the air as Matthew watches the cop. But the silence is soon shattered by the sound of the cop’s trunk slamming down. Then slowly he makes his way over to Manely’s van.
